How long does your site take to load?

We Malaysians are a frustrated lot. We are at the mercies of the internet service providers like Streamyx, Jaring and the other smaller players. We know our internet connection sucks max.
I have just tried for the 100th time to stumble someone’s post and it just won’t move. It is darn frustrating to surf at night because the internet speed over at my place is too slow.
So, as a gentle reminder to those bloggers who have fancy schmancy theme or template, plenty of plugins pulling in all sorts of ‘popular post, most view post, top ten commented yadda yadda yadda’ frills and lots of photos plus tracking codes, do keep your blog simpler.
If your traffic is meant to attract Malaysians, all the more you should trim it because many people dislike waiting for a page to completely download. Sometimes, we may not notice how slow our site is because of the cookies and cache stored in our PC. However, those who come by has to wait for a long time to see all the photos and etc.
The other thing you may want to observe is - Are your contents loaded first or do people have to wait for the sidebars and top banner to complete first?
I noticed that many food bloggers have these problems whereby their contents hang while we wait for the sidebars with lots of linked in pictures to download first. My food blogs too have the same problems but I am reluctant to rectify the matter.
If you really want to reduce your loading time, there are several things you can do (my reasons for not doing them in brackets).
1) Reduce the number of posts on the main page (but I like at least 5 posts on the main page)
2) Reduce the size of your photos (but I like 500pixel width photos for the oomph)
3) Cut off your posts and add ‘read more’ (but my readers hate to click ‘read more’ so I never use that)
4) Keep your sidebar contents to the minimum, trim them often (I am keeping the minimum but who can do without money making ads, right?)
5) Do not use tracking codes which you don’t rely on (I only keep Google analytics and a couple of other codes that make money for me)
If you want to know how long it takes for your site to load, just google for it. There are several sites which tell you how long your site takes to load.
Remember : Sometimes, eye candy theme serves no purposes but instead, turn off potential visitors. Less is more!

Clearer picture on Malaysia’s economic future after Nov 4

KUALA LUMPUR, Oct 27 — November 4 could be a make or break day for many Malaysians. On that day, Finance Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak will reply to questions raised during the Budget debate and is likely to lay out a buffet of new measures to cushion the effects of the world economic slowdown.
He is likely to redraw all the assumptions that went into preparing the Budget which was presented by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Abdullah Ahmad Badawi in September.
The Malaysian Insider understands that Najib could also downgrade economic growth forecast for next year from 5 per cent to 3 per cent. He has little choice. The recent freefall of palm oil prices and the sharp drop in crude oil prices will dent the government's revenue in 2009 and 2010 and impact on its ability to fund projects over the next few years.
Also, with the United States economy in a recession and other markets for Malaysian exports slowing considerably, it is only natural that the manufacturing sector here will be affected.
If the government gets it right with its slew of measures on Nov 4, Malaysians will experience an economic slowdown for the next two years but will avoid a gut-wrenching recession.
Sources told The Malaysian Insider that to keep up domestic economy and consumption the government is likely to spend on several major infrastructure projects. But to do that, it must be prepared to allow the Budget deficit to grow even wider.
Government economists and Finance Ministry officials have been looking at the past economic slowdowns and examining strategies that worked then in 1986 and 1997. Clearly, there is consensus that the credit crises in the United States and its contagion effect across the world are more serious and unpredictable than the slump in commodity prices in the 1980s and the Asian Financial Crisis.
Today's global financial crisis is unlike any other in more than three decades. The turmoil has been exported from the US, and then western Europe, to emerging markets. Securitisation and the proliferation and global distribution of complex and opaque financial instruments mean that economies have become more interdependent.
After the resolution of the crises of the 1980s and 1990s, many emerging markets implemented key reforms, pursued prudent macroeconomic policies, strengthened banking and financial institutions and built up significant central bank reserves. In spite of their reforms, many of these countries have been caught in the downdraft of this credit crisis. They are the victims of financial stress that is both not of their making and is beyond their control. It is now affecting their real economies. No country will be spared.
A month ago, Brazil's president said that the crisis would produce only "a ripple" in his country. He was wrong. On Oct 16, the country's stock exchange index lost more than 11 per cent, its biggest single-day drop in a decade. The real has slid 30 per cent against the dollar since Aug 1.
The thinking within the Malaysian government appears to be that growth next year could hit a low of 2 per cent but 2010 could be more challenging if the government cuts back on developmental and infrastructure projects.
In mid-1980s, the Mahathir administration awarded large projects to the private sector with cheap loans, resulting in the North-South Expressway, the Penang Bridge and several other infrastructure projects being built. At the same time, it accelerated its privatisation policy and relaxed the Bumiputera ownership requirements.
The government succeeded in its bid to revive the economy. Indeed, Malaysia became one of the fastest growing countries in the world, averaging a growth in GDP of over 8 per cent for the decade of 1987 to 1997. The rapid growth also brought in massive foreign investment into the stock market and financial sector, creating bull runs in 1993 and 1994.
The difference between now and then is the significant budget deficit in the country today. This will restrict the government's ability to spend, spend and spend.

4. PayU2Blog – This is another place to earn money online through blogging. Similar SponsoredReviews, blog approval is easy, but sometime you wont get any email from them if your blog is not qualify. You’ll get tasks assigned to you weekly and normally you have to complete it within a week.

I get paid $5 to $7.50 for each paid post.

5. Smorty – It’s very simple to get approval by them if you have your blogs get indexed in google. No question ask, just do what they want, and then you can get pay in just 1 week period. Smorty is the fastest payment ever in paid blogging service.

PR0-4 blogs get paid from $6 to $20 for a blog post

6. ReviewMe – They are growing. In the past they just focus on advertising posts on blogs for a payment fees, you can’t choose the advertisers, advertisers choose you. At the moment they have a market place where you are able to choose on these advertisers.

You earn 50% of what you have ask for your premium paid post sales, while you can earn $5 to $7.5 for a PR3 blog in their market place.

7. V7N – PR is more important for them. They do not accept free blog platform like blogspot, etc. V7N suit for you after you have your own domain name.

Normally I will get paid at least $10 for one blog post however I heard that somebody got paid for $20 per post. You are able to negotiate your price with them if you have high PR blog.

There are a lot of paid blogging opportunities but I don’t recommend you go with them due to some reasons. These are Bloggerwave, loudlauch,and so on..

Make Money Online Series From Dropshipping - Introduction About Dropshipping

Dropshipping is a type of retailing where, instead of the retailer (meaning you) actually keeping the goods in stock at their own location, they instead pass the order, along with the shipment details from a customer, to a wholesaler. It is then the job of the wholesaler to dispatch the goods ordered directly to your customer for you. The great thing about this method is that not only do you not need to have a large warehouse for storing all the goods you are selling, but also you make a profit through the price you pay for it wholesale, and the price that you sell it to your customer for.

In fact, where dropshipping is concerned, you are actually acting as the middleman for the product that your customer receives and the manufacturer who produces it. This particular type of system is extremely beneficial to both small retail shops, as well as internet based stores, or those people who use mailing catalogs in order to generate sales for their companies. In fact, many customers who purchase their products in this way seem to not be too bothered that there is a delay between the time when the products are ordered and when they actually have them arrive.

Instead, they can use the more inexpensive shipping methods that are now readily available by using either UPS, FedEx or a locally based delivery company to ensure that their products are delivered directly to the customer. Plus, as many manufacturers have spent vast amounts of money ensuring that their warehouses are completely secure, they know that their products are safe until the day that they are dispatched, rather than them sitting in the back room of some retailer’s shop with very little or no security on the property.

Kebangkitan Semula Adzhar

KEJAYAAN membina rangkaian di bawah syarikat induk Kumpulan Noradz dalam pelbagai bidang hasil usaha Pengarah Urusannya, Datuk Adzhar Sulaiman, sangat menakjubkan.

Sentuhannya boleh dikatakan luar biasa. Bukan memuji tetapi realitinya, hanya dalam tempoh lima tahun bermula 2003 hingga 2008, lima syarikat diwujudkan atau dalam erti kata lain setiap tahun ada satu syarikat baru ditubuhkan.


Bermula dengan syarikat pertama, Noradz Travel & Services Sdn Bhd yang terbabit dalam kereta sewa dan limosin, ia bercambah kepada Noradz Bakery (kek dan pastri) dan Noradz Plantations (pertanian, peladangan dan penternakan).

Selain itu, ada Noradz Resort (pelancongan); Azzafar Bina Sdn Bhd (pembinaan dan kejuruteraan) dan Noradz Productions (penerbitan filem dan komik).

Melalui syarikat terbabit, Kumpulan Noradz yang mempunyai cawangan di seluruh negara dengan keupayaan 300 kakitangan, aktif dalam pelbagai projek.

Selain sibuk dengan proses pembikinan filem pertama bergenre komedi, Shhh ... Dia Datang yang dijangka ditayangkan awal tahun depan, syarikat terbabit hampir menyiapkan resort dilengkapi kem aktiviti lasak, taman permainan air, dusun buah-buahan dan restoran.

Apabila siap kelak dan dijangka beroperasi Februari 2009, tiga resort terletak di Pantai Balok, Pahang; Tangkak, Johor dan Sri Iskandar, Lumut, Perak itu bakal menjadi tumpuan ramai, terutama seisi keluarga, untuk beriadah.

Selain itu, dengan memiliki 10,000 kereta sewa termasuk limosin yang kini digunakan Hotel Coronade, Bukit Bintang, membayangkan betapa gahnya syarikat hasil kombinasi pangkal nama Adzhar dan nama anaknya.

Itu belum lagi projek ternakan kupang di Serkam, Melaka; kek dan pastri di Kajang selain ladang sawit, pisang serta pelbagai projek pembinaan di seluruh negara.

Kejayaan demi kejayaan dikecapi Adzhar, 53, meletakkannya setanding dengan usahawan Bumiputera lain yang menempa nama dan cemerlang di negara ini.

Begitupun, bukan mudah menjadi insan bernama Adzhar Sulaiman. Sebelum berjaya seperti hari ini, beliau perlu ‘membayarnya’ dengan keperitan dan kepayahan.

Malah, beliau tidak segan silu menyatakan pernah diisytiharkan muflis atau bankrap. Bukan itu saja, pada satu ketika beliau bekerja sebagai pemandu, sedangkan sebelum itu Adzhar memiliki pemandu peribadi.

“Jika sebelum itu saya ada pemandu peribadi yang membawa ke mana hendak dituju, tetapi selepas ‘jatuh’ saya pula jadi pemandu orang lain.

“Selain itu, kerana tak mampu bayar hutang melebihi RM10 juta, saya diisytiharkan muflis, malah ada syarikat dan kilang terpaksa ditutup dan dijual.

“Untuk meneruskan hidup bersama isteri dan anak, daripada rumah selesa, saya berpindah menyewa di flat DBKL (Dewan Bandaraya Kuala Lumpur) dengan sewa RM124,” katanya.

Pengalaman susah itu dilaluinya ketika negara berdepan kegawatan ekonomi pada 1998. Sebelum itu beliau ada tujuh jenis perniagaan, antaranya memiliki kilang mancis, Wax Manjong Sdn Bhd di Manjung, Perak; kontraktor; perniagaan kereta sewa melalui Noradz Travel & Services Sdn Bhd serta membekal peralatan pejabat.

“Ketika itu bukan saja tersungkur, tetapi tertiarap sehingga semua syarikat ditutup. Kereta sewa yang ada lebih 3,000 buah, saya jual purata lima buah setiap hari kerana nak bayar hutang, tetapi masih tak mencukupi.

“Sejak terbabit bisnes pada 1975, itu kali pertama saya jatuh, memang terasa sangat. Zaman itu sangat mencabar, malah ada rakan bunuh diri kerana tak mampu hadapi cabaran, namun saya bernasib baik kerana keluarga dan rakan banyak memberi sokongan, selain menerima ini sebagai dugaan Allah SWT,” katanya.

Selepas jatuh, hidup Adzhar berubah, pelbagai kerja dilakukannya seperti penyelia pasar raya, selain pemandu demi menyara isteri dan anak.

Hampir lima tahun Adzhar hidup dalam keadaan tidak menentu, namun berkat kesabarannya, pada 2003, anak jati Selangor itu mendapat kontrak kereta sewa dengan jabatan kerajaan, syarikat swasta dan hotel.

“April 2003 adalah hari kebangkitan saya kerana masa itu saya dapat kontrak menyewa kereta. Begitupun masalah yang timbul, saya tiada kereta untuk disewa, namun ada rakan sanggup menghulur bantuan kewangan untuk saya membeli lima kereta,” katanya yang menggunakan nama anaknya untuk membuat permohonan.

Berbekalkan keyakinan dan pengalaman jatuh, Adzhar bertekad terus melakar kejayaan satu hari nanti.

“Saya percaya saya akan naik semula, tetapi ia mesti disertai usaha, doa dan tawakal. Selain itu, saya memegang kata-kata, jika tak berani gagal, kita bagaikan tiada apa-apa,” katanya.

Sebenarnya, Adzhar dengan bisnes seperti tidak boleh dipisahkan. Ketika di sekolah rendah, selepas pulang, beliau berniaga rojak dan tapai di Batu 5, Jalan Ipoh.

Tidak suka duduk diam, ‘kerjaya’ itu diteruskan lagi di sekolah menengah apabila beliau menjual buku cerita di pejabat sekitar tempat tinggalnya, Jalan Raja Laut dan ada perkara menarik mengenainya.

“Saya suka cari duit, masa sekolah rendah ketika usia 10 tahun, saya ambil tapai di rumah orang, beli 10 sen dan jual 15 sen.

“Di sekolah menengah pula, saya beli buku cerita popular dan novel, jual di pejabat. Konsepnya, saya jual sebuah buku berharga RM5 dan beberapa hari kemudian atau selepas pembeli tadi selesai baca, saya beli semula pada harga RM3.

“Saya untung RM2 dan dalam sebulan saya dapat RM3,000 dengan hanya bermodalkan RM2. Kerana seronok apabila dapat duit banyak, ketika tingkatan 5, enam bulan saya tak pergi sekolah, sibuk menjual buku sehingga kena rotan pada perhimpunan sekolah,” katanya.

Selepas tamat sekolah, Adzhar bekerja di Jabatan Pengangkutan Jalan (JPJ) sebagai budak pejabat dengan gaji RM70 sebelum dinaikkan pangkat sebagai penjaga stor dengan gaji RM120.

Beberapa tahun kemudian, beliau minta ditukarkan kerjaya dan dihantar ke Hospital Kuala Lumpur di wad kecemasan. Mahukan lebih cabaran, Adzhar ditukarkan ke Jabatan Rukun Tetangga di bahagian pentadbiran.

Sudah puas menimba pengalaman sebagai kakitangan kerajaan, pada 1975 Adzhar meletak jawatan dan berniaga kecil-kecilan dengan membekal peralatan pejabat ke pejabat kerajaan.

Selepas itu, Adzhar melebarkan sayap dalam bidang pengangkutan (kereta sewa) dan pada Disember 1982 mewujudkan syarikat sendiri diberi nama RIT yang terbabit dalam industri pembinaan seperti membina rumah peneroka Felda, sekolah dan jalan raya.

Pada 1994, RIT ditukar nama ke Noradz Travel & Services Sdn Bhd sekali gus melebarkan sayap dengan pelbagai bisnes, termasuk kilang mancis.

Don’t Waste Your Time and Money with Brian Campbell

I’ve been anticipating the launch of Brian Campbell’s video serieshe’s been promoting so much on Facebook. Yesterday I got an e-mail from Brian letting me know the videos are now live to watch. In total, there are 45 short YouTube videos which combined, add to about 3 hours worth of content.
I watched all of them in their entirety and while there is some good content, the best quality stuff that Brian preaches comes with a price. He’s been building up hype for two weeks about how he’s going to make $10,000 in 37 days. I don’t doubt for a second that he won’t make that much, but for you to do the same thing is nearly impossible.
The basic idea described in the videos is this…
You need your own product to sell. The more expensive it is, the more money you’ll make. Create an informational product; eBook, report, teleseminar, etc.
Build your social networking contacts on sites like Facebook.
Send these contacts to a squeeze page to capture their e-mail address using autoresponder software and send them a free report or PDF.
Now that you’ve got their e-mail address, market them whatever you wish (such as the product you’ve created or affiliate product).
Leverage the power of the list by creating a word-filled sales letter.
Pick very high traffic, non competing niches… what are those niches? Give Brian a $47 signup fee and $27 a month after that to find out. Ripoff!!
And the end of the video Brian lists three packages you can choose from. Bronze, Silver or Gold (I wonder how he came up with those names - creative guy!). For a minimum of $27 a month and a maximum of $297 a month, you can learn what Brian “sort of” taught in the videos.
This is biggest disappointment and load of crap I’ve ever seen. I’m not usually one to bash another marketer, but when I see the stunt he’s pulling and the number of people buying it, it’s very sad.
The same information suckers will pay hundreds of dollars for can be learned for free all over the internet, including on this very blog.
How You Can Help
This blog reaches about 1000 readers daily and I know this post will prevent a lot of those loyal readers from emptying their pockets into Brian’s system. What you can do to help is e-mail this post to a friend or link to it on your blog.
The more people who can be made aware of what Brian Campbell is trying to pull, the better off the internet marketing community will be.
UPDATE: Brian has just sent out a message stating that he’s reached $7,000 so far since yesterday. But where is the proof? He doesn’t show any!

Convert AVI to MPEG in SUPER
The watermark image should simply be text promoting your affiliate offer. I’ve had the most success promoting PPL (pay-per-lead) offers, such as ringtones, or e-mail submits. Make sure you hide your affiliate URL using a redirection service, such as TinyURL.com. It will make it easier for your viewers to remember the URL as well. Upload the video to YouTube with a descriptive title of the video. In the description field, enter the URL you just created and some text describing your offer. Example: “Get a FREE Ringtoneof this music video!”
It’s important to always follow the terms and conditions of each affiliate offer you’re promoting. Some offers restrict you from using the words, “free”, “best”, “guaranteed” etc. when promoting them. Check to make sure you aren’t violating any of these terms. It’s also best to use YouTube videos that are royalty free. Ignoring these rules and uploading a copyrighted video may get your video removed from YouTube and your account deleted. Your affiliate network account may also be terminated if a viewer reports you for promoting an offer in conjunction with a copyright violation. Play by the rules and you won’t have any problems. Your cash flow also won’t be cut off.
